1. Does bill Consolidation hurt my credit?
As long as you make your payments through us on time, most creditors will continue to report you as current to the credit bureau.

2. Why can I not do this on my own?
Budget Counselors works with hundreds of creditors throughout the country and we send them payments on behalf of hundreds of people just like you. As a consumer credit counseling agency, most creditors welcome consumer's attempts to consolidate!

3. My payments now are due at different times. How do you handle that?
One of the many benefits of bill consolidation is that you can pick what part of the month (or biweekly) when you want to pay your payment. We will then notify the creditor of the disbursement date of your payment and handle it from there.

4. What do I do with the statements?

Send the statements to us every month (copies or originals) so we can monitor your creditors for you and make sure they honor the new and more favorable terms we arrange for you.

5. How do I know that my bills are being paid?

You will continue to get your statements each month showing the payments we are making for you. More importantly, THE NEW TERMS we arrange for you will also appear on the statements. This way, you will see yourself making a lot more progress in paying down the debt each month as more of the payment amount will go to principal, not interest! Through MCR Budget Counselors Credit Services Inc., you are able to utilize our bill auditing service, which will monitor all account activity on your behalf - a major benefit thus helping to insure all the new terms arranged through MCRBC are being honored.
